HCS student wins Garden Club of America Scholarship

Sustainable Plant Systems major, Nathan Detwiler is one of the Recipients of 2015 The Katharine M. Grosscup Scholarships in Public Horticulture!

Nathan Detwiler is studying horticulture at Ohio State University where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Sustainable Plant Systems.  He is interested in finding ways to grow vegetables while improving the quality and health of the farm ecosystem.  Nathan is also interested in promoting local foods and farm- to- fork food systems.  This summer he is planning to improve his marketing skills by working with a farm that sells directly to the public. Nathan‘s career goal is to operate an organic vegetable farm helping to reconnect people with good food and sustainable farming practices. Nathan comes from a large family of 11 children, all home schooled.
