Garden of Hope 

Position: Student Assistant, JamesCare for Life (3 positions available). The ideal candidates will be available early February through the end of summer of 2015.


Location: Garden of Hope, Ohio State’s Waterman Farm, 2490 Carmack Road. The Garden of Hope is a community garden for cancer survivors including families.


Department: JamesCare for Life (JCFL): JCFL provides a broad range of educational outreach and supportive services for oncology patients, caregivers, families and the community, including education classes, support groups, nutrition programs, exercise, art and music therapy.


Job Description: Duties include planting, pulling weeds, trimming plants, and general cleanup of the garden and greenhouse. Greet as well as assist participants with harvesting produce, provide information and guidance to participants.


Work Schedule: Daytime, evenings, and weekends; 20 hours/week during semester, 40 hours/week during the summer. Special considerations: must be able to work long hours outdoors.
