Ornamental and non-edible plants may also be used, but these plant must be labeled for safety!

Maze Garden

Maze gardens should be designed for kids only. The scale needs to be smaller. To accomplish this use shorter bushes, and small arches.

Kids should feel enclosed in the area, but parent's should be able to easily find their children.

Remember to keep the design simple. It should not be easy for kids to become lost and scared

Possible maze design

Plant that are easily sheared should be used for maze gardens

Add color to keep it interesting for the children

Small play sections may be hidden in the maze

Wildlife Garden

The purpose of wildlife gardens for children is education, but remember to make it fun

Aim to attract wildlife that is not dangerous to children. Any territorial animal is not a good choice to attract

Adding stone statues of animals and using plants with animals names is a good way to make it educational all year, even when the animals are not active

Possible wildlife garden designs:

Adding animal houses and water features also attract wildlife to an area

Informational sign are good too, but must be fun and easy for children to understand
