MacIntosh was Curator of the Gardens of the King
of the Belgians. He was author of the following books:
The Practical Gardener and Modern
Horticulturist (1828) 2 volumes
New and Improved Practical Gardener (1828)
Flora and Pomono (1829)
The Flower Garden (1838)
The Orchard and Fruit Garden (1839)
The Book of the Garden (1853-55)
The latter book was one of the most noteworthy
manuals of the middle of the 19th Century.
