Scientific Name:
Buxus 'Green Mountain'

Family:
Green Mountain Boxwood

Family:
Buxaceae

Description:
As a smaller (but in some locations better) alternative to Dwarf Alberta Spruce, Green Mountain Boxwood is a distinctly upright form, and can be easily sheared into a pyramidal or columnar shape, or planted in rows as a hedge. Shown on either side is the long-time standard Vardar Valley Boxwood, which has broader leaves that are slightly puckered, and is hardy to -15 Fahrenheit without damage. Green Mountain Boxwood is cold hardy to -30 F without damage (zone 4), and very slowly achieves a height of 5 feet tall and 3 feet wide.
