American Chestnut, formerly a major hardwood and nut-producing tree of Eastern North American forests, now is rarely seen, and then only as young saplings or stump sprouts. Its spring catkins (elongated male flowers) may be considered ornamental and somewhat reminiscent of Sourwood, which also has cream to lime-colored inflorescences.Black & White version for printing
