 Scientific Name:
Cornus alternifolia Family:
Pagoda Dogwood Family:
Cornaceae Description:
Pagoda Dogwood is one of the few ornamental trees that has a horizontal branching growth habit, and is prized for this feature, which becomes apparent at a young age but only reaches its maximum beauty at maturity. Unfortunately, this species is rarely available, in part because it is very susceptible to a fatal canker disease of the branches and trunk, and also because it has a very low survival rate after transplanting.Black & White version for printing |
