Scientific Name:
Cornus florida

Family:
Flowering Dogwood

Family:
Cornaceae

Description:
While Flowering Dogwood can easily stand alone when in full flower in early Spring, a solid background of evergreen trees (White Pines in this case) may enhance the beauty of the floral display. In Autumn, the favor is returned again, when the crimson fall color of the foliage has a solid evergreen background to contrast against.
