Department of Horticulture and Crop Science

The Department of Horticulture and Crop Science is an engaging program filled with in depth learning experiences, scientific discovery, research opportunities, and respected academics. We have two majors, Sustainable Plant Systems and Professional Golf Management. Our Sustainable Plant Systems major prepares students for successful careers in the fields of Agronomy, Horticulture, Landscape Design and Management, and Turfgrass Science. Professional Golf Management helps students become PGA professionals. With its devoted faculty and staff, the Department of Horticulture and Crop Science is committed to providing an excellent educational experience for each student. Students will have opportunities to join clubs, research projects, and internships that provide additional educational experiences outside the classroom. Come grow with us!

  • Three students and one faculty member in the Department of Horticulture and Crop Science won awards at the CFAES Recognition Program and Banquet on April 7, 2016. The Recognition Program celebrate students, faculty, and staff from the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences.

  • The Ohio Soybean Council Foundation is pleased to offer $36,000 in scholarships to undergraduate and graduate Students for the 2016-2017 academic year.

  • “The Ohio Grape Industries Committee (OGIC) will recognize grape and wine producers in Ohio with the first-ever “Grower of the Year” and “Winemaker of the Year” awards to be presented at the 2016 Ohio Grape & Wine Conference on Feb 15-16 in Dublin, Ohio.
