AREA OF EXPERTISE: Maize Genetics and Breeding.
Genetic basis of resistance to maize chlorotic dwarf, maize streak, northern leaf blight, and gray leaf spot diseases of maize. Use of molecular markers for gene mapping and introgression. Breeding germplasm with enhanced host resistance and grain compositional characteristics. Introgression of superior traits from tropical races of maize into Corn Belt.
