Gardens have been around since the beginning of man. The designs of these gardens, however, have gone through some amazing changes since the beginning of man. In this web site I plan to look at the garden not as simply land to be dug up and planted, but as an empty canvas to be painted. Using elements and principles of design I will show how a gardens can become masterpieces. One will also be able to find demonstrations of good garden designs and poor garden designs. As well as examples of past gardens.

I did my web site on rock gardening with alpine plants so the name is thus Alpine Rock Gardening.Ê The site is designed for the beginner that may have questions about the basics of rock gardening and about the choices and care of alpine plants.Within the site one can learn how to construct a rock garden, or as an alternative, a trough garden. One can learn about several types of alpine plants and how to care for an alpine rock garden once established.Ê One can also connect to other sites to view numerouse alpine plants and recieve further knowlege of care for a particular plant.Ê The page itself is very general and basic knowlege, however the links are to sights with more advanced information.Ê For this reason i feel that this site would be good for beginners and intermediates alike.

GCinsider (Garden Center insider, NOT Golf Course insider) was created to be a resource for the average consumer. It is meant to provide the shopper an inside look into the Garden Center world. This includes parts of the business that can cause heartache for the information and the plant-seeking public. I discuss some of the factors that make up the Garden Center such as pricing and the secret of "Customer Service". In addition, the site also acts as a reference or self-help guide to what the consumer should be doing before entering by providing tips that can cut down shopping time significantly, without causing too much mental and physical effort.

Here you can explore the many different types of water features available to you and how to create and put your own design to work. Whether it's a small, quiet reflecting pool tucked in a far corner of the yard or an elaborate waterscape complete with gurgling fountain, water lilies and fish a well-designed ornamental pond will provide hours of pleasure and most of all relaxation. Water features bring movement, sound, and peace to a garden. They offer habitats for plants, fish and wildlife, but perhaps above all else, they allow us to control and enjoy one of life's most primitive elements. Endless opportunities are offered with water features, just like in gardens themselves. Our imagination is our only limitation when it comes to pondering new ideas. As with anything, it is all too easy to fall into the trap of over complication when designing with water. It has never been easier to use water as a design element in your garden. The old, complicated methods of constructing features from concrete and other cumbersome materials have largely been superseded, and with them, much of the expense and maintenance traditionally associated with water features. So there is really no excuse for doing without water--so get out there and start digging!!

What is a Bible garden? Many may wonder this. Therefore, I have researched this topic and attempted to give an adequate explanation. After viewing my site, one should realize the concept of what a Bible garden is and how it may be constructed. If things are unclear, feel free to email me with questions or comments.

As for my project, I tried to establish a website that would help individuals dealing with the turfgrass pathogens that I discussed. My project is most likely not as elaborate as you would have liked to see, but I can assure you that I spent countless hours trying to complete it( remember I could barely turn on the computer at the beginning of the quarter). With Bud's and your help, I was able to establish all the right links, and anchors.

This site takes visitors from an introduction of orchids through plant selection, breeding fundamentals, pollination procedures, utilization of the sterile technique, deflasking and orchid culture. Along with introductions and presentations, I've also included a section on general orchid culture that identifies how to care for several common orchid genera.

I have created this website for people who are interested in the new and exciting field of biotechnology. Hopefully in the future these advancements will be able to rid the use of harmful herbicides and pesticides. Plant technology may even be able to rid the world of hunger in some far off time. I am glad I was able to learn how to build a website. It will be a very usefull skill in the future.

This web site was created to inform people of the diverse flora of the Kenya region. It includes pictures and additional information on vegetation of the different climatic zones on Mount Kenya. It describes how the grassland ecosystem maintains itself and includes pictures of the animals that graze the land. The last major portion of the site introduces information on how the Maasai tribe use the native vegetation around them in their every day lives. This web site is an in depth analysis of vegetation that may not be familiar to many of us.

Moon gardening began during Medieval Times. During the Victorian era it was a very popular garden design theme. In the early 19th century it lost favor, but in the last twenty years moon gardens have become popular once more. This web site is a source of information for the beginner gardener or the knowledgeable on moon gardens. It gives the definition and some examples of moon gardens. It includes sample plant lists, garden features, and a few uses of the garden. Finally, it provides a source for additional information on moon gardens by providing other web sites and references.

The subject of my web-site was the Mayhew Endowment, a new scholarship for horticulture students. This web-site provides information about the history of Donald Mayhew and Ellen Mayhew, the benefactor of the Mayhew Schorlarship and Mayhew Grove. It also includes a list of all the trees currently in the grove, information and pictures of each tree, and a link to corresponding pages in plant dictionary. The site also provides photos of students currently under the Mayhew Program as well as a paragraph about each students research project. In addition, there is a page that lists expectations and benefits of being a Mayhew Scholar and a page of links to other web-sites that include information about native trees. The reason behind choosing this topic for the web-site project is I am currently a Mayhew Scholar and construction of a web-site was part of my Mayhew project.

The website I designed hopes to enhance and promote an educational and enlightening experience with houseplants. I hope to help the homeowner design spaces in the home with various plants. Here you will find suggestions for selection of plants for different rooms in the home, plant growth information on various spots in the home, and general suggestions to all amateur houseplant growers. In addition to all of this you will find a section relating to simple propagation techniques for the do it yourselfers. I hope to help you better understand what types of plants will work well with the room you want to add them to. Good luck!

My website was designed to help beginners and homeowners understand the steps needed to be taken when installing a patio themselves. If they really wanted to follow my website as directions to install a patio they might have trouble because my lack of example photos. (i.e. a picture of me or someone actually doing the work). I have included many pictures of my own in this website, and included many links to another website with a similar goal. They did have many pictures of the process. All directions are the right way to install pavers, and if followed the project will be successful. I provided links to searches, other websites, photos of my own, photos of others, and ideas for projects.
