PLANET
PLANET, the Professional Landcare Network, is an international association serving lawn care professionals, exterior maintenance contractors, installation/design/build professionals, and interiorscapers. PLANET emerged on January 1, 2005, when the Associated Landscape Contractors of America (ALCA) and the Professional Lawn Care Association of America (PLCAA) joined forces to become a more encompassing network of green industry professionals. PLANTET hosts an annual competition in all the skills of the profession, along with a Career Fair where important national firms recruit. Students spend fall and winter preparing for the competition, and raising funds for the trip. These skills are being integrated into Landscape Horticulture course curricula to improve students' qualifications for optimum employment.
