Program in the Comparative Analysis of Constructed Landscape in England and the Midwestern USA

This program is an intensive analysis of landscape systems in the US and England. The purpose is to compare and contrast the two cultures through their landscapes and perhaps gain a greater understanding of each. The analysis includes an assessment of landscape systems (gardening, design, installation, and maintenance of ornamental plants and turf) in the US through reading, discussions, visits, and interviews. A parallel analysis, as well as some experiential learning of how some landscapes are developed, is done in England.
