Horticultural Display Areas

.

The Western side of the college campus has a beautiful horticultural display area that is defined in part by a large lawn bordered by herbaceous island beds, a pinetum, and part of the arboretum.

The display areas have different themes: some beds contain plants organized by taxonomic grouping; others have plants with bold, summer flowers; still others have silvery foliage, variable foliage, or evergreen plants. All these beds are in part designed and maintained by Myerscough students both in the Landscape Practice area and in the Horticulture area. The plant materials in these displays is used for teaching as well as for some research purposes.
