The Myerscough College Nursery Unit is probably best described as a Horticultural Plant Production Unit as this group of staff and students work on the production of greenhouse and container-grown hardy- and tender-plants for educational and commercial purposes. The unit boasts some very modern facilities (above and at right). Plants produced in this unit are sold at competitive prices to any individual or organization through the Plant Center. For example, the Study Abroad students needed a wide range of plants for the garden they designed and installed as part of the program (see Projects). Some of these were purchased from the Myerscough Nursery Unit at market prices. |

The nursery
and greenhouse facilities, permit students to participate in the entire
process of plant production: from propagation to growth management, to
a finished, salable product, to installation in a landscape.
