| Myerscough College, as typical horticultural school, has a range of greenhouses that have been used for teaching potted plant production practices for many years. Recently, the greenhouses have expanded to become a full-fledge Plant Centre where the general public can come and purchase plants. The greenhouses still house a large range of plant materials for teaching purposes, but much effort has been spent on creating an engaging environment that is attractive year-round, but particularly so in the not-uncommon gray sky days of Northern England. | |

| .The Range of plant material offered for sale at the plant center is very large, appropriate for the 70,000+ species and cultivars of horticultural plants that can be grown successfully in the UK because of its bening climate. The plants include succulents (below, left) and the typical shrubs, trees, and herbaceous perennials of the classic English gardens (below right). | |
