A stop at Garstang

Thursday, 22 June 2000 found us with a bit of free time in the afternoon. Some of us needed to go into Garstang, a small market town just 4 miles north of the college, for photographs of residential strees (Nate Ritchie's project) or for a stop at a lumberyard (Troy Maggied's project). The rest wondered through the market (eyes sparkling at the opportunity to shop... quite different from the somewhat glazed look in a few eyes during the plant quiz earlier that day) and sauntered into the local Safeway supermarket to stock on necessary supplies.

Garstang is truly a lovely town, retaining its authenticity in spite of incresing tourism. A major attraction is the market which has been operating continuously once a week for many generations.
