London

Well, any trip to London has the requisite stops at the famous tourist sites. These are truly impressive structures, steeped in history and lore. Although the seat of British government, London is a world city, especially in the summer when the Queen's English is heard only about one third of the time. The city is nearly overrun with tourists (like us!).

Below: The new British Airways wheel towers over the Thames and allows a spectacular view of the city (so we are told; we could not get tickets).

Following a tip from John Smyth, I trekked up Parliament Hill in Hampstead Heath on the northern section of London and was rewarded with a nice view of the entire sprawling city (below).

Among the many gems of London are a few much less common means of transportation, which often means the owners have money to spend on expensive toys (below). These 'cars' are cute, however.
