| Myerscough College is located in Northern England, on the northern edge of the great industrial heartland that includes famous cities such as Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Bradford, and others. Birmingham is about 100 miles south of the College. The college grounds are in Bilsborrow, part of the Borough of Wyre in the county of Lancashire. The closest major city is Preston, just 5 miles south. About 4 miles north is a wonderful market town called Garstang. The setting for the college is quite rural, but there are many villages and towns nearby. To the West, about 15 miles from the college, is the major resort town of Blackpool. Other resort/retirement villages abound in the area. To the East, is the Forest of Bowland, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (an official designation) dotted with quaint villages and characterized by a pastoral landscape of hills, pastures, meadows and woodlands. |
