ARRIVAL ETC. |

The group arrived a little late, but undismayed at Manchester Airport The women mostly missed out on that picture, so here they are outside
the terminal: Typical Manchester weather greeted us on arrival and followed us all
the way back to Myerscough where Andy Taaffe was determined to keep
us all awake until a respectable bedtime: and almost succeeded: We hoped to have a look round Garstang that afternoon, but that Manchester
weather stayed with us and all we managed was a raid on the local supermarket
(along with all the local inhabitants it seemed): |

Finally for the plant aficianados, here is a shrub that I found in a park in Lancaster that evening. I had missed the "evening" (4:30 to 6:30) meal in trying to make a connection to BTopenworld from a College phone, and went up the A6 in search of sustenance. After my pizza I could not resist rambling around and was drawn to the Ashton Memorial that dominates a hill overlooking the city. I had left my camera in the car, but could not resist nicking a bit of this shrub. There should be a prize for correct ID! |
