WALK AROUND CONWY WALLS |
|
|
The walls of Conwy were constructed in the 1280's. The town was on a strategic route between Wales and England and was vital to the maintenance of the Norman hold on Wales. From the southwest corner we can see the tidal waters of the Afon Conwy to the north and Snowdonia to the south. The walls form a ring with Conway Castle (Castell Conwy), seen to the northeast. |
