GRASSINGTON |
After our visit to Fountains Abbey, we went to the Yorkshire village of Grassington. This turned out to be in the midst of a festival. The cars parked in the village square contrast with the historic setting but the local architecture was easier to appreciate in the backstreets. |

We came across this interesting store that offers a combination of plant material and art for indoors and outdoors. This is a one-yeaqr old business, started at the height of the foot and mouth epidemic. So the first year has been tough because travel restrictions kept customers away. Business is picking up, but the owner is looking for good local suppliers of plants. |

| We finished our day in the White Rose County with locally made ice cream and a pleasant stroll along the River Wharfe to Linton Falls. | ![]() |
