Gresgarth Hall

On Wednesday, June 19, we toured Lady Arabella Lennox-Boyd's estate, Gresgarth Hall. This elaborate garden is only 20 years old and covers 15 acres of land. Lady Arabella is a world-renowned garden designer and has won several Chelsea Gold awards for her work. This garden is open to the public only four times a year, but her close ties with Myerscough College, as a former member of the board of governors, allowed us a special visit.

Pictured on the left is the front view of the house with a statue of a wart hog. Statues have been incorporated throughout Lady Arabella's garden. On one side of the house, there is a large lily pond, which can be enjoyed from thelounge area overlooking it.

Kate (left) and Nance enjoy the sunny day touring around the expansive estate.

Pictured above is one of many perennial borders in the garden. 'Johnson Blue' Geranium is in the front of the picture, and Lupine is pictured toward the back of the border. Repetition of flower color is a dominant theme in the garden.
