During our stay at Myerscough College we were able to attend a lecture by John Brookes. Brookes is a well known author and gardener. He has written many books about designing and installing gardens.
The night before the lecture we all attended a dinner with John Brookes at a local restaurant. In the morning we enjoyed a lecture and a slide presentation. In the afternoon we watched Brookes lay out the plants from his design in a bed under mature trees next to the Myerscough Resource Centre. While laying out the plants, he talked through what he thinking and any helpful tips he came across.
This is a picture of the area next to the Resource Centre after it was planted. All of the plants that were used in the border were small. As time moves on, the plants will grow and fill in the spaces.
