North West Turf was established 10 years ago in Ormskirk, Lancashire. Today it is one of the largest and most successful turf growers in England with 500 acres in production. North West Turf offers several blends of turf, each made of top rated cultivars and approved by the Turf Producers International UK. To the left is the company's seeding machine, which plants 150 pounds of seed per acre in a 'broadcast' pattern, rather than planting in rows. |

North West Turf sells their turf in square meter rolls. Spring is a busy time of year and the harvesting machine, shown at the right, harvests 12,000 meters on a good day. One might think the rate of soil loss would be great, however, studies have shown that very little soil is lost when harvesting turf. |

Located in an area with good rainfall, fertile soil, and a dense population, North West Turf has an ideal location. Deliveries are made throughout the UK to garden centers and larger contractors, while the local customers pick up their orders. Unlike in the U.S., the stacked rolls of turf are handled and delivered without a palette. Check out their web site for more information. |
