Homework #7 - Social Networking Project Proposal This assignment is designed to help you plan, describe and develop your Social Networking project. Team name, Goals and objectives, Network members, Content areas and tools being used are to be proposed and written down by Monday morning (2/23) before 9:00 and posted on the Virtual560 Network as a new blog posting (one posting per team). Please submit a revised (expanded and more specific) version of the plan on Monday, March 2nd. Your final report on the project will be due on March 9th.
In your plan, you need to present each of the following sections: - Team name and Ning network address
- Goals & Objectives - What do you want to be, provide, or be known as?
- Network Members - Identify HCS560 members, with links to their eportfolios and all invited and active outside student, academic and professional members.
- Content areas. Identify and describe each content area being developed on the site. For each area, list the following choice of tools being used:
Blogs, Photos, Forums, Groups, Music/Audio, Videos, Text Boxes, Events, RSS feeds and other tools Expectations: - Each network is based around a Ning-managed site that is open to the public for sign-up access. Other Internet services, like those reviewed in class, may also be incorporated into the concept.
- Each network is built around a concept that has direct relevance to academic and/or professional organizations.
- Each team member contributes to ALL aspects of the Network.
- Each team will seek outside students, professors and industry professionals to participate and/or react to the network. Specifically:
- Invite 2-3 students outside this classs to participate in and/or react to the Network (at OSU or elsewhere)
- Invite 1-2 professors to participate in and/or react to the Network (at OSU or elsewhere)
- Invite 1-2 professionals to participate in and/or react to the Network (in Ohio or elsewhere)
- At least one person from each of the three categories should participate in and/or react to the Network.
- HW8 Progress Report will be presented on Mon, March 2nd, along with a revised copy of the proposal. The progress report is a graded assignment. Everyone on the team needs to contribute to the progress presentation and be prepared to show and describe their contributions. No official presentation file is required. Individual accomplishments and involvement needs to be submitted by each team member in writing.
- HW9 Final Website will be graded from a printout of the site.
- HW10 Final Presentation describing "What I Accomplished" will be developed by all members of the team and presented in class on Tuesday, March 17th. This presentation will substitute as a final exam. More details will be made available during the last week of class.
