The College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) hosted the 11th Annual CFAES Undergraduate Research Forum on Thursday afternoon, February 20, 2014, held in the Agricultural Administration Auditorium. Thirty-one undergraduate student researchers from CFAES and the School of Environment and Natural Resources shared their research in a poster presentation format with faculty, staff, fellow students, and invited family members and guests.

HCS faculty member, John Finer participated in the Farm to Fork Dialogues. The Collegiate Young Farmers hosted the Farm to Fork Food Dialogues Tuesday, featuring panelists from the farm and food industries. The central topic of discussion was biotechnology. HCS student Debora Liabeuf (on far left) was awarded the travel award from the International Society for Horticultural Sciences (ISHS). Award winners recvied a check for $500 and a certificate. Congratulations Debora!

Alpha Zeta Partners is currently accepting applications for Class 16.
Alpha Zeta Partners is a professional honorary for students in the College of Food, Agriculture, and Environmental Sciences and focuses on its pillars of scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship. Twenty members are initiated each year and go through a year-long development program that includes three seminars and a six-week study abroad to Brazil.
There will be an informational session and ice cream social on January 27th at 6:00 pm in Norton Lobby.

OSU Turfgrass Alumni and Students Shine in San Antonio
The Sports Turf Managers Association held its 25th annual conference January 21- 25 in San Antonio, Texas. The OSU turfgrass science program was heavily involved in the meeting.

92-Year-Old Receives Degree from Ohio State
Congratulations Ted Chandler! He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio State on January 23, 2014!
When asked what advice he would give to incoming freshman, Chandler said, “Don’t look for the easiest way. You learn more from hard work.”

Seneca County Master Gardener Scholarship
The Master Gardeners of Seneca County, Ohio is a volunteer group helping OSU Extension to educate and assist the community in horticultural pursuits.
The applicant must be:
1. A Seneca County resident or
2. A graduate of a Seneca County high School.
College: The applicant must be pursuing a PLANT SCIENCE degree, such as in the areas of
AGRONOMY, BOTANY, HORTICULTURE, FORESTRY. OR LANDSCAPING.
