HCS 5325
This course will serve as a general introduction to the basic principles of plant genetics. Specifically, this course focuses on concepts in molecular genetics, transmission genetics, quantitative genetics, and population genetics which can be used to understand the biological processes of plants, our use and improvement of crop plants, and the process of evolution.
Prereq: 2202 or MolGen 3300, and Chem 1110 or 1210, and Biology 1101 or 1113 or MolGen 1101; or Grad standing. Not open to students with credit for 4325.
