The American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS) hosts an annual conference for horticulture researchers, scientists, industry, academia, government, and students to learn about and showcase new technology and advances in horticultural science. This year it was hosted in New Orleans, Louisiana.
CULTIVATE is an annual conference that is presented this year by AmericanHort. This event is for anyone in Horticulture - where they can attend hundreds of educational sessions, get hands on experience in workshops, and learn more about industry standards and products. It's a great place to expand your network and resources as educators, researchers, students and more!

HCS grad student, Ty Rich, recently published one of his thesis research chapters entitled "Ethephon Substrate Drenches Control Stem Elongation of Containerized Herbaceous Perennials" in HortScience. Ty is currently finishing up his master's degree focused on containerized floriculture crops under the advisement of Dr. Garrett Owen.

You're in luck, check out HCS 5320 Floriculture Crop Production where you'll learn advanced methods for commercial production of greenhouse-grown floriculture crops. You'll also dive into the principles and practices of production systems, plant materials, cultural practices, and environmental conditions to produce floriculture crops.

We're proud to announce the new CEA specialization perfect for students ready to dive all in - please note this is a specialization of our Sustainable Plant Systems (SPS) major.
