The OARDC Research Conference is a held every year alternating between the Wooster Campus and Main Campus in Columbus. This year, the conference was held in Wooster on April 24th. The theme of the conference was "From Biology to Business - The Transformational Power of Big Data." The conference showcases experts and gives them a chance to discuss their research. It is also an opportunity to award outstanding OARDC faculty and scholars. Reserach conducted through OARDC was presented in a poster format. This year, 70 graduate students, post-docs, and research assistants/associates presented their posters. Prizes are awarded to the top 3 research posters in each category.
Research assistant/associate category:
1st place - Sarah McNulty (advisor: Katrina Cornish), “Effects of planting density on plant survivability, root size, and rubber concentration in Buckeye Gold dandelion, Taraxacum kik-saghyz.”
2nd place - Wenshuang Xie (advisor: Katrina Cornish) with his poster titled “Magnesium affects rubber biosynthesis in Ficus elastica”
