The Department of Horticulture and Crop Science's (HCS) Graduate Research Symposium (GRS) is always a highlight of Spring Semester for us. The GRS is coordinated by the HCS Graduate Student Association (GSA) and provides HCS students and faculty from both our Wooster and Columbus campuses the opportunity to come together to share their research!
Maranda Berger, was able to cap off her time as Logistics Chair of the GSA by helping organize this year's GRS. Maranda just graduated receiving her MS under the advisement of Drs. Edward Nangle and Florence Sessoms and took a few moments to shed some further insight into her experience organizing the 2025 Graduate Research Symposium…
HOW WAS THE SYMPOSIUM FOR YOU OVERALL?
The GRS went really well! I truly think that this was one of the best symposiums I have attended and really enjoyed every part of it. My favorite memory was seeing one of my lab mates, Brenda, win the Poster competition when she just started two months ago! The Turf team is small but full of exciting new research!
How was your research?
My research went really well; I have finally finished and recently successfully defended.
CLOSING THOUGHTS?
I would like to include a thank you to all the people who made this event possible, to the judges, the officer team, and the team of staff who helped so much in Wooster!
