The Graduate Research Symposium (GRS) from Kirti Tyagi's Point of View

May. 20, 2025
Kirti, her lab mates, and Dr. David Mackey out bowling after the GRS!

The Department of Horticulture and Crop Science's (HCS) Graduate Research Symposium (GRS) is always a highlight of Spring Semester for us. The GRS is coordinated by the HCS Graduate Student Association (GSA) and provides HCS students and faculty from both our Wooster and Columbus campuses the opportunity to come together to share their research!

Kirti Tyagi helped organize this year's GRS. Kirti Tyagi is currently working on her PhD under the advisment of Dr. David Mackey and spared us a few minutes to let us know about her experience at the 2025 Graduate Research Symposium...

HOW WAS THE SYMPOSIUM FOR YOU OVERALL?

The Graduate Research Symposium (GRS) was a great experience. Everything went well. I loved bowling with my advisor Dr. David Mackey and loved the Pot painting event.

HOW IS YOUR RESEARCH GOING CURRENTLY?

My research is focused on finding out the strategies used by bacterial pathogen during early stages of infection. My research is gradually building up towards the final objectives of my PhD. I am grateful to be a part of my Lab and OSU.
