Congratulations to Olivia Liebing for taking home the People's Choice Award in the Proposal Posters Category at the Graduate Research Symposium! The Graduate Research Symposium is an annual event hosted by the HCS Graduate Student Association that provides HCS students and faculty from both our Wooster and Columbus campuses the opportunity to come together to share their research!

Olivia is currently pursuing her MS under the advisement of Dr. Garrett Owen. Her research is focused on the propagation of woody ornamental nursery crops. We're ecstatic to have Olivia in our department and fortunately she was able to provide us with a look into her experiences at the 2025 Graduate Research Symposium...

WHAT WERE YOUR THOUGHTS ON WINNING THIS AWARD?

It was very exciting. It is great to have such a supportive research community.

What was the highlight of the GRS FOR YOU?

The GRS was a great experience. Meeting with so many of my Wooster classmates in person was very nice and it was an amazing opportunity to learn more about what everyone does.

HOW’S YOUR RESEARCH GOING CURRENTLY?

My proposal research has now started and I'm looking forward to getting further along.
