Prabath holding award with Dr. Karcher

Congratulations to Prabath Senanayaka Mudiyanselage for taking home the People's Choice Award in the Results Posters Category at the Graduate Research Symposium! The Graduate Research Symposium is an annual event hosted by the HCS Graduate Student Association that provides HCS students and faculty from both our Wooster and Columbus campuses the opportunity to come together to share their research!

Prabath is currently pursuing his PhD under the advisement of Dr. Laura Lindsey. His thesis research is focused on evaluating the management and environmental drivers that degrade soybean seed quality and composition. We are excited to have Prabath in our department and thankfully he had a spare minute to talk to us about his experiences at the 2025 Graduate Research Symposium...

WHAT WERE YOUR THOUGHTS ON WINNING THIS AWARD?

I am truly delighted to receive this award. This marks my third win for the People's Choice Award, and I am incredibly grateful to everyone who voted for me. Your support means the world to me.

What was the highlight of the GRS FOR YOU?

GRS is an event I look forward to every year, and this year was no exception. Wooster Faulks did an excellent job hosting it. My favorite part, however, was the grad social at the Bowling Club—I had such a great time bowling with my friends from the lab and HCS.

HOW’S YOUR RESEARCH GOING CURRENTLY?

I'm currently in my second year of my PhD, and it's a bit of a whirlwind time. I'm juggling last year's data while gearing up for the upcoming field season, which starts in just a few weeks. It's an incredibly busy period, but I'm happy with how everything has unfolded so far.
