    Sustainability Scholarships and Grants for Students!
    The Office of Energy and Environment and the Office of Student Life are offering funding grants for student research, campus projects, scholarships and travel related to energy, the environment and/or sustainability.

    The application deadline for the OEE scholarships and research funding is Oct. 27, and awards will be announced Dec. 1.

  2. New food-related sustainability initiative at OSU

    University Dining Services is excited to launch another new sustainability initiative this fall that will give students, staff and faculty the opportunity to help grow the produce that will be used in our campus dining operations.  As part of a partnership with CFAES, Dining has secured a space in the Howlett Greenhouse, which is located on west campus (http://www.osu.edu/map/building.php?building=297), where staff and students will work together to support this year’s crop of kale, lettuce and basil.

    Do you enjoy sharing your passion for Ohio State with others? Would you be willing to show high school students what it is like to be a Buckeye? The "Experience OSU for a Day" (EOFD) Program allows prospective students to get a feel for what college is really like. These students visit CFAES frequently, and we are in need of volunteers to show these students around campus when they come to visit.

    Starting the morning of September 3 through the end of the day, September 5 the college experienced some difficulties with the “Application to Graduate” database. If you completed the Application to Graduate during this timeframe please email Lynn Mande to make sure the college office received your application to graduate. Do not take for granted the fact that you received an email confirmation that it was received by the college office.

  9. Two HCS students win scholarships from the American Floral Endowment

    Horticulture and Crop Science seniors, Joshua Henry and Amy Miller, were awarded scholarships from the American Floral Endowment. According to their webiste, the American Floral Endowment (AFE) " is an independent nonprofit organization that funds research and scholarships in floriculture and environmental horticulture for the benefit of growers, wholesalers, retailers, allied industry organizations and the general public." 

  10. American Society of Agronomy Announces 2014 Award Recipient

    Steven Charles Parker, Ohio State Agronomy Club, East Canton, OH – Greenfield Scholars: Steven Parker is a student at The Ohio State University. He is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Sustainable Plant Systems with a Specialization in Agronomy. His minor will be in Agricultural System Management. Mr. Parker studied two years at The Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute in Wooster, Ohio. He received an Associate’s Degree in Sustainable Plant Systems with a specialization in Agronomy from ATI. He also received the Outstanding Student award.
