My current research is focused on Jerusalem Artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus), and the inulin content present in tubers across different cultivars. I will be looking into the genetic traits that influence tuber mass, inulin content, and rhizome length for future breeding work.
Why OSU?
I chose OSU as I was granted the opportunity to do research on an under-utilized native crop that can be used for both its prebiotic properties and as a potential biofuel, although not without its issues. I love the prospect of working with such an interesting crop that has potential to be incredibly useful in today's society.
