Peat moss has long been an industry-favorite component for blended substrates. I work alongside Dr. Signorini on the Beyond Peat project, an effort that aims to identify an alternative to peat amid growing concerns on the sustainability of its continued use. I combine agronomy and economics to investigate substrate efficiencies and affect positive industry change that's rooted in numbers (not peat moss!).
Why OSU?
Having grown up in Columbus, I was ecstatic to join the HCS master's program and become an official Buckeye. After graduating from Miami University in 2018 with a BA in Creative Writing and a minor in Horticulture, I worked for 6 years in various corporate marketing roles before returning to MU to finish a Botany BA in May 2025. I look forward to finding my niche in the industry and bridging the Botany-Business gap.
