I'm anticipating graduating Autumn 2026
Research Focus:
My research is focused on exploring the effect of a biological product (Beauveria bassiana) as a seed treatment for enhancing cover crop establishment in corn-soybean systems in Ohio. This research is outside the routine use of B. bassiana for pest and disease control. Therefore, I am particularly in pursuit of the positive effect of this product in cover crop establishment, which could present a scientific breakthrough for new applicable practices, and eventually provide an advantage to the demanding cropping systems in Ohio.
Why OSU?
I choose OSU HCS because I wanted to pursue my PhD in an academic institution with strong faculty members and high level of competency in providing quality theoretical and practical based knowledge. During my Master’s degree, I conducted research on crop management practices for rice in farmer’s fields. I got interested for two reasons: the importance of crop management practices in the growth and yield of the crop; and the research on the farmer’s field for extension of new technologies. The growing demand for corn throughout the world has increased my interest to ameliorate knowledge of this crop. When I got the opportunity to know about my advisor’s current project opportunity, I inferred that it was perfectly in line with my personal and professional interests. Further, the helpful nature of my advisor and the staff of OSU was very commendable. Therefore, I decided to join and pursue my higher academic degree at OSU.
