Chris Walsh

Growing up I developed a passion for the game of golf. During my time as a student at Ohio State, I began working at the Ohio State Golf Club, where I quickly discovered that I wanted to pursue a career in the golf industry as a PGA Professional. Determined to turn my passion into a profession, I enrolled in Ferris State University's Professional Golf Management (PGM) program—the first of its kind. This experience solidified my foundation in the golf industry and set me on a path to achieving my career goals.

After graduation, I began my career at a golf facility in South Carolina, where I worked for 2.5 years. In 1993, I was offered an incredible opportunity to join the Ohio State Golf Club as a golf professional. I served as the Head Golf Professional there until 2008.

During my tenure, I collaborated with HCS to help develop the Ohio State PGM (Professional Golf Management) program. In 2008, I transitioned to a role with HCS to fully dedicate my efforts to the PGM program. This decision stemmed from my passion for sharing knowledge and experience with the next generation of golf professionals. Guiding and mentoring students in the Ohio State PGM program has been an immensely rewarding experience, allowing me to contribute to their growth and success in the golf industry.

I am excited to see HCS continue to thrive and grow under the leadership of Dr. Karcher.

Spend time with my two boys, travel, golf, run, go to the gym, and go to outdoor patios in the summer to listen to live music.
