I'm anticipating graduating Autumn 2024
Research Focus:
My research focus is on “Identification of QTLs governing Pre-Harvest Sprouting (PHS) tolerance in soft red winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and assessing the accuracy of genomic selection.” The objectives of our study are to determine genetic variation for PHS among soft red winter (SRWW) lines, identify QTLs governing PHS in SRWW suitable for breeding resistance, and assess the accuracy of genomic selection.
Why OSU?
I chose OSU HCS to be my grad school because I have read that it has an intensive variety of programs that will further enhance my knowledge in plant breeding and genetics, genomic selection. I believe that OSU HCS will help me develop improved wheat varieties that I can share to farmers and help them increase their yield. Lastly, I am hoping that I can also impart with my countrymen the knowledge and the techniques I have learned from this great university.
