PERSONAL BACKGROUND
My professional experience spans from the horticultural use of woody ornamental trees and shrubs for the landscape to transcriptional regulation of environmental stress responsive genes in the model plant species Arabidopsis thaliana. My research interests are focused on understanding the molecular-genetic basis of freezing tolerance in barley, wheat, and rye. The long term goal is to utilize this information to improve crop performance.
