Dr. Laura Elizabeth Lindsey

I’m from rural Ohio – so I’ve been surrounded by ag for a long time (even though both my parents were teachers). I’ve also always enjoyed science – many of my science fair projects growing up involved soil & FFA.

• Soybean & Ohio wheat performance tests
• Cultural practices (planting date, seeding rates, cover crops)
• Specialty small grains (winter malting barley, hybrid rye, & more niche small grains)

I did a combined bachelor/masters program here at OSU – then went right into a PhD program at Michigan State. Fresh out of school, I knew I wanted to come right back here to work at OSU. 

I frequently host international interns & visiting scholars (many of whom have been from Brazil).

Commodity Classic – it’s a great farmer-focused conference.

Growth in the department & seeing new people coming in - the prospect of getting 5 new faculty members this year is a big deal!

My husband & I do a ton with our 3 kids - from visiting COSI to Franklin Park Conservatory to Alum Creek.
