I like to think about system complexity - aka how do plants, animals & soil interact. I especially enjoy the complexity an animal brings to the ecosystem & how it impacts everything else.

• Flooded pastures - we can’t control the flooding but we can control how can we mange it. We're looking into possibly using native warm season grasses. 
• Crop livestock integration system project - on farm research looking at different levels of diversification (crops, livestock, manure etc.)

I started off working with organic systems (I have an agronomy background) then thought how is this different then conventional production & began wondering how animals impact the system. Now I work in the middle trying to connect the two (crops & animals).

I'm co-advising a PhD student who is doing half his project here in Ohio & replicating the project in Brazil as well. 

Animal Science Society Meeting & Crop Science Society Meeting - these meetings are very dynamic & allow you to meet people from all over the country doing different things. I often collaborate on projects & going to meetings helps me strengthen existing relationships & helps form new ones.

I'm excited about seeing more students back on campus!

I enjoy spending time with my family & relaxing at home.
