I'm anticipating graduating Autumn 2028
Research Focus:
My research focuses on enhancing the sustainability and productivity of urban farming systems for vegetable crops and cut flowers. I look forward to investigating the impact of farm intensification levels, integrated pest management (IPM) programs using emerging technologies, and evaluating agronomic biofortification to improve crop quality and resilience. Additionally, I hope to explore innovative post-harvest treatments to extend storage life and assess the educational impact of my research on urban agriculture.
Why OSU?
I chose The Ohio State University’s Department of Horticulture and Crop Science (OSU HCS) for its wide-breadth, research-oriented, and world-class educational experience that speaks to my area of interest. The department’s interdisciplinary approach complements my background in Food Science and aligns with my Ph.D. focus on resource-use efficiencies (primarily water and nutrient management) in vegetable and cut-flower production in urban farming systems. Working with Dr. Fernanda Krupek and the Urban Food Innovation Research Team offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research aimed at improving crop quality and food system resilience. I believe OSU HCS provides the ideal platform for honing my expertise, while addressing global challenges in urban agriculture.
