I'm anticipating graduating Spring 2023
Research Focus:
My research focuses on drought adaptations and soil water deficit tolerance in chile pepper. Using a diverse collection of landrace chile peppers from Mexico, we explore the ecology of drought adaptation across a domestication and environmental gradient. To do this, we evaluate phenotypic responses to water deficit and the associated genetic variation. We hope to identify morphological and physiological traits, as well as genetic loci, that contribute to water deficit tolerance.
Why OSU?
I chose to come to OSU primarily to work with my advisors, Drs. Leah McHale and Kristin Mercer, but also because of the well-known, high quality agricultural research and institutional resources that OSU provides.
