AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY IN EXTENSION & RESEARCH
Extension: Devise & implement the Buckeye Sports Turf Program and disseminate sports turf research to the industry. Currently writing an Online class for groundskeepers & athletic field managers. Manage a website with 2800 subscribers. Carry out 25-30 in-state visits to athletic fields each year, manage the annual sports turf short course, produce an annual sports turf calendar, speak at several in-state workshops and seminars, serve on several industry boards (in and out of state), write Extension/Outreach grants and procure funding.
Research: Athletic field stability and reinforcement, sand selection for athletic fields, cool season grass traits; wear tolerance, establishment speed, over-seeding options, rhizomatous tall fescues & other newer grass varieties. Write research proposals and procure funding.
