Department of Horticulture and Crop Science

Undergraduate Programs

The Department of Horticulture and Crop Science offers two majors: Sustainable Plant Systems and Professional Golf Management.

Sustainable Plant Systems

Our Sustainable Plant Systems major has five specializations that a student can follow. These specializations are designed to develop a deeper understanding of a specific field. Each specialization focuses its area of study on a particular field of plant science. From ornamental plants, to corn and soybeans, to sports turf management, students can find their fit with the Sustainable Plant Systems major. Students choose one specialization to follow but all graduates of the Sustainable Plant Systems major will receive a Bachelor’s of Science in Agriculture.
Check out the videos below for a more in depth look at the specializations.

Professional Golf Management

What is Professional Golf Management?

The Professional Golf Management degree program is a four and a half year college curriculum. It’s designed to prepare students for a successful career in the golf industry. A goal of this program is to assist students in becoming members of the Professional Golfer’s Association (PGA).
