The Crops and Soils club provides social, educational, and leadership experiences for students interested in the fields of crops, soils, conservation, turf, and other related areas. The club meets at 7:00 pm every second and fourth Wednesday of each month during the regular school year in Kottman room 334 to discuss business and visit with industry representatives. The club serves as a fundraising organization for the Soils Judging and Weeds Teams at The Ohio State University. We raise funds through various events including hosting a food stand at the Farm Science Review each fall, and selling tomatoes and peppers each spring at the Chadwick Arboretum Spring Plant Sale. These events not only serve as fundraising events, but they also provide members with the opportunity to meet and network with various industry professionals. The club also enjoys having a good time as we participate in activities through both the College of Food Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and the university as a whole. Each semester we try to participate in university intramural sports such as Dodgeball, Basketball, and Slow Pitch Softball. College activities such as Ag-Olympics and Pumpkin Carving events are also fun activities that we participate in.
